Our Mission

Gygnus is built on trust, respect, and professionalism. These guidelines create a safe environment where customers find quality services, providers build successful businesses, and every payment is protected from start to finish.

1. Professional Conduct

💬 In-App CommunicationRequired

To protect your payments and preserve evidence for dispute resolution, all job-related communication must stay within the Gygnus platform. Moving conversations off-platform voids your escrow and dispute protection.

🪪 Identity Verification

To ensure a safe community, Gygnus uses a two-step verification process to confirm every user is a real person:

  • Verified Email: All users must verify their email address before using the platform.
  • Real-Person Selfie: Users must provide a live selfie photo to confirm they are a real person — not a bot or fake account.
  • Optional Persona Verification (providers): Providers may optionally complete identity verification through our third-party partner, Persona, to unlock 7-day escrow payouts and earn the Trusted Provider badge. Persona verification is voluntary and no government ID data is stored by Gygnus.

This helps ensure the person you hire is the person who shows up. Impersonation or false credentials result in immediate and permanent account termination.

🛡 Safety First

We have zero tolerance for harassment, discrimination, or unsafe work environments. Providers should never enter a property, and customers should never admit a provider, if either party feels the situation is unsafe. Trust your instincts — your safety always comes first.

Providers must

  • Arrive on time or notify customer of any delay
  • Only quote jobs you are qualified to perform
  • Complete work exactly as agreed
  • Respond to messages within 24 hours
  • Leave work sites clean and undamaged

Customers must

  • Provide accurate, complete job descriptions
  • Be accessible during scheduled service
  • Ensure the work site is safe and accessible
  • Release funds promptly for satisfactory work
  • Leave fair, factual reviews based on experience

2. Escrow Integrity

📅 The 30-Day Rule

Funds are held securely in escrow for 30 days post-completion to ensure service quality. During this window, either party may file a dispute with evidence. After 30 days with no dispute, funds are released automatically to the provider.

⭐ Fair Feedback

Reviews must be honest and based solely on the actual work performed. "Review bombing," extortion through threats of negative reviews, or paying for positive reviews are all violations of our conduct code and grounds for permanent account suspension.

For providers: Gygnus is free to sign up and apply — when a job is paid, a 6% platform fee goes to Gygnus and estimated credit-card processing is deducted separately from your payout (see Terms). The secure payment system funds dispute resolution and real-person verification — the systems that keep every transaction safe. Circumventing platform payments (paying off-platform) removes these protections for both parties and violates both this Code of Conduct and Section 8 of the Terms of Service.
⭐ Trusted Providers who complete Persona verification or who have 50+ completed jobs with a 4.5-star average rating earn a 7-day escrow release instead of the standard 30 days. See Terms of Service §4 for full details.

3. Zero Tolerance Policy

These behaviors result in immediate account suspension or permanent ban with no warning:

Refusing service or making decisions based on race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or age.

Harassment

Unwanted advances, bullying, intimidation, stalking, or sharing personal information without consent.

Violence & Threats

Physical violence, threats, bringing weapons to job sites, or engaging in any illegal activity.

4. Safety & Verification

Identity Verification (All Users)

  • All users: Email verification required before accessing the platform
  • All users: Live selfie photo to confirm you are a real person (never shared publicly)
  • Licensed services: Providers of licensed trades (electricians, plumbers, contractors) are expected to hold the applicable licenses

💡 General Safety Tips

  • Keep all communication and payments within the Gygnus platform.
  • Trust your instincts — if something feels wrong, don't proceed.
  • Report suspicious behavior immediately using the in-app report button.
  • Don't share personal financial details (bank accounts, SSN) with anyone.

5. Content Standards

  • Explicit or adult-only services
  • Illegal drugs or controlled substances
  • Weapons or explosives
  • Stolen or counterfeit goods
  • Pyramid schemes or scams
  • Spam or repetitive listings

✅ Profile Standards

  • Use genuine photos of yourself or your work
  • Don't exaggerate skills or experience
  • Keep profiles professional and family-friendly
  • No impersonating other users or Gygnus staff
  • Accurate service category listing only

6. Consequences of Violations
